Bio

Hi, I’m Tamia Jacques—a wife, mother of six, artist, and founder of Sustainable626, located in the heart of the Texas Hill Country.

Sustainable626 is a glimpse into our family’s journey toward self-sufficiency. We started with a simple suburban lot, transforming it over time into a thriving permaculture homestead. Today, we raise poultry and grow an abundance of food, including eggs, fruits, vegetables, nuts, medicinal herbs, mushrooms, and flowers for both nourishment and beauty.

The photos on this site are from our home, where our children are homeschooled and actively take part in caring for animals, cultivating the land, and contributing their own design ideas.

My artwork, jewelry, pottery, and floral designs are all handcrafted originals, inspired by my surroundings and this ongoing journey—from barren land to a flourishing, sustainable space. My paintings reflect the garden we’ve cultivated and the beauty of my morning swims in our local river. I also create assemblage art by repurposing salvaged items and combining them with high-quality artisan materials.

Each painting or pottery piece is available for purchase or loan.

My passion is bringing sustainable, functional, and beautiful spaces to individuals, businesses, and communities. Whether you’re looking to establish a homestead, create a kitchen garden, incorporate permaculture practices, or find meaningful artwork, I’d love to help.
